The 3rd generation's a charm
Between me and my husband we've owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I've settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. Simply does what it's supposed to do..
I ordered this FM transmitter for my iPhone 16GB 3G on a whim.. I had no really high expectations because of the low price, which is how I typically approach items like this.. It arrived rather quickly in a plain white box.. So, maybe they saved some money on packaging.. I immediately took the unit to my car, plugged it in, dropped the iPhone into the base and cranked it up.. I had some pretty bad static at first, but then while toying with the 3.5mm stereo cable that comes with it, found that you don't even need to use the stereo cable!! Once I ditched the 3.5mm cable, the sound was crisp and clear.. According to the instructions, there should be an LED on the actual lighter plug when the unit is plugged in and working, but mine doesn't work.. I couldn't care less about that, because the unit does exactly what it's supposed to do, and I no longer have to worry about burning CDs so I can jam while I'm zipping down I-95 at 95mph.. Heheh.. Could work well, but frustrating
The sound quality is pretty good, but not as good as an auxiliary connection of course. If your car does not have any way to install an aux connection, like mine, this product is great. My only complaint is that my car charger input is horizontal, and the weight of this device sometimes pulls the connection apart when I hit any kind of bump, this resets the station to 88.1FM, so I got in the habit of leaving my radio tuned to 88.1FM even when there is interference. Also this disconnection causes the song to restart. I started resting the device on my shifter, (I have an automatic trans so its not too much of a problem) and this somewhat solved the issue. Also my remote never worked even if I change the battery, not that I ever would use it though.

It has some ups and down.
I have tried several differant options over the years to listen to my iPod while I'm driving. Realisiticaly, I should just buy a new car that has an iPod ready radio (the new Camaro looks sweet). This product works well; with the exceptions being that you do get some background static, you have to change the frequency settings every once in a while. Finally the upside. It does work as well as any FM transmitter out there. Another big upside is the fact that your iPod will remain fully charged no matter how many hours you will be rolling on the highway. If you want the best product out there Audiovox makes a product that hooks up to the back of your radio, and with the flip of a switch it blocks out all other FM frequencies so that your iPod doesn't get the static.

I am very pleased with the versatility of this product. I use a standard GPS at home, but when I'm traveling, this portable holder will come in handy for use in rental cars with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus acting as the GPS. Highly Adjustable and Well Built!
I recently purchased an HTC Rezound smartphone and keep it in an Otterbox Defender case continuously. Suffice to say, this makes for a phone that is too wide and too heavy to be supported by vent mount cell phone holders (been there done that). This dashboard mount unit is VERY flexible. There is an adjustment for side to side, up and down, depth and tilt. I can easily fit my phone into it, and the bean bag mount (similar to a Garmin friction mount in function, but much heavier) seem to stay put on the dash. The construction build seems solid. solid build
I have just received iKross mount and thus cannot comment on its long-term durability. But the first impressions are positive. The base is heavy and flexible. It should fit a variety of dashboards, even the sloped ones. The mount did not slide under relatively fast acceleration and braking. The assembly is easy and intuitive; all parts fitted perfectly; no rattle. The part that holds the phone is adjustable; it easily accommodated my Galaxy S2. I would recommend this product to others.

5th Gen ipod 30G Video Hard Drive Replacement
My 5th Gen ipod (over 5 years old) had started skipping, freezing and giving "use iTunes to restore" warning. Restore seemed to work but it kept crashing. This hard drive installed easily with a little patience. Look on youtube for videos demonstrating how to open the case with correct tools. I changed my faceplate and battery at the same time. Ipod charged and powered up immediately.My only comment regards the initial sync. I could not get the computer to recognize the ipod or iTunes to sync without getting -1417, -1439 and -50 errors. When using iTunes restore function, Apple instructions state to put the ipod in disc mode after reset. Well, until I could get iTunes to recognize the device, I didn't know how to put it in disc mode without using the iTunes control panel. Fortunately, I found a blog with more detailed instructions.Hold center button + Menu until apple logo appears, then immediately hold center button + Play/Pause and it will be in disc...

MK3008GAL brought my Ipod back to life
About 2 years ago, I had my 30gig Ipod video crap out on me not too long after the warranty had expired. After a run of several failed Ipods after their warranty expired, I gave up on them and have been buying Sansas. I recently left one in a hotel and do not have the extra cash to invest in a new mp3 player. Anyways looked up online how to fix an ipod. It seemed simple enough that I could attempt it. If it didnt work, so what, its been broken anyways. I ordered this product on Monday and received it on Wednesday. I did some very delicate surgery on Ipodicus and was so happy to see it start up. What a success! This is the most valuable 25$ I have ever spent. If you have a malfunctioning Ipod past its warranty, I urge you to try to fix it yourself before shelling out more money for a new one. Also Thank you SantechUSA for your prompt delivery

Great product for the iPhone 3G!
I first want to address a previous review. My Pure-Fi Express Plus doesn't have static, or white noise no matter what the volume level (anywhere from 0-40). Also, you can turn the unit off, leaving just the clock running. I'm not sure if the reviewer got a bad unit, but both statements were not true.I was looking for a unit that sat next to my bed, played music from time to time, had an alarm clock and most importantly charged my iPhone 3G. Believe it or not, that was a much more difficult task then you would think - 95% of iPod clock docks won't work with the iPhone, let alone the 3G due to GSM buzz. This radio does it without problems. The sound quality is excellent. iLounge gave it an A- rating. It also includes a remote! Nifty!The one thing I with was better was the alarm clock function. It's very basic, and doesn't include a snooze button, but the loud beeps seem to wake me up just fine (and I never use the snooze).

Another Good Logitech Product, But Better Alternatives Exist
Unfortunately this product, while being another example of Logitech's great quality, finds itself in the awkward position of being a less enticing version of other Logitech Products that better specialize in aspects of the Pure-Fi Express Plus' feature set. The product is a good, not great performer, it's portable, and it features an alarm clock, but since Logitech has other iPod docking products that either perform better, are more portable, or are better alarm clocks, I'd recommend the alternatives first.As far as performance goes, the Pure-Fi Express Plus didn't provide the same quality output as my set of standalone speakers with subwoofer, but it holds its weight. Simple, black, and nice
I was looking for a device with a clock which would also charge my iPhone/iPod as well as play my tunes as I fall asleep. I did a little bit of research online and came to like this Logitech device.
