A good, inexpensive solution
I purchased this car vent mount to hold my 4th generation iPod Nano. The mount itself is actually very sturdy. It's a hard plastic, but it does not feel cheap in any way. There are two ways to use the holder. It comes with two attachments: a screw-on flat attachment for sticking to your windshield, dash, etc., and a vent attachment to stick right in your vent. I would not recommend using the adhesive if you live in a warm climate, like I do. I live in North Florida, and the humidity and heat has made my dash a mess with the adhesive. I was able to clean it all off, though. This doesn't affect the overall rating of the product for me, because I bought the holder with the intention of using it in my vent, anyway. I personally prefer keeping the iPod in the vent.The iPod does not shift at all while driving. The side holders are adjustable, so it can fit practically any cell phone, as well. There are rubber-like inserts on the sides, so whatever is put in the holder will not...

Good for the price
Very cheap so expect some fall backs. The only fall backs I found was it wouldn't fit most phones. I have the LG cosmos with a case on it. It is skinnier than all of the smart phones that most people have and it barely fits in the holder. If you are using it to hold an ipod I would make sure that your not plugging it in through the bottom of it. The cord gets in the way of the holder and makes it practically impossible to hold securely. If you have an auxilery cord going through the top of it then you'll be fine.

Great for a road trip
I bought this device after my older Belkin model was stolen (with iPod) out of my car! Just after buying it, I moved across the country and if it weren't for this transmitter, the trip would have been a heck of a lot longer! It was great and never gave us any trouble at all. I have a newer nano and I had read that some people were having trouble with the nano staying in the device. I had bought a clear, thin case for my nano and this works like a charm for the holder. No problems, what-so-ever. Plus, once you want to take the iPod inside, you've already got the protective case on it! I would certainly recommend this to everybody!

Two problems with this product
First, let me say that this item works mostly as advertised. It hooks up fine with my ipod 5th generation and plays over the FM radio without much static as long as I choose an unused station. It also remains in place fairly well in the lighter socket.My big problems with this product are:1) Each time you turn off the car and turn it back on, you have to reset the transmitting frequency (station) on the unit. It resets to 88.1 every time power is removed.2) Each time you turn off the car you have to also turn off (or pause) the ipod or else the ipod will keep playing. Likewise, each time you turn on the car, you have to press play on the ipod to start playing.In my other car I have an old product (no longer available) that has neither of these problems. I don't need to touch it when turning off or on the car and it continues right where it left off.

Watch using it for a Droid!
Overall this is a fantastic product at a great price and it works beautifully! I bought it to be able to play my MP3s from my Motorola Droid through my vehicle's stereo and it works great for it.....the sound and signal quality from the FM transmitter impressed me - to be quite honest, I figured (at the low price) that it would end up sounding like crap but I was amazed that it works REALLY well. Only two problems I have with it....one is REALLY minor.1) The mini-jack cord supplied with it to connect your non-iPhone items to it is a bit cheap. Mind you, it works well but I would suggest buying a better quality cord online or at your local Radio Shack (or The Shack as they seem to be called now). It's a minor thing and may only be of any importance to me....lol2) For any Droid users who are thinking the same thing for this that I did........The FM transmitter seems to interfere with the cell phone signal. I don't know how or why, and it doesn't really make...

Versatile
I use The GOgroove Flexsmart I in my Ford Focus with my iPhone 4 and my Girlfriend uses it with her iPod touch.I needed a simple solution for mounting my phone when using my GPS app. The neck is very flexible and the mount that grips the phone actually rotates so i can use my phone in landscape or portrait view. It has rubber on the part that goes in my cars cigarette lighter, so it stays firmly in place after I use a decent amount of force to get it in.I've used the FM Transmitting function while driving to the beach a few times and it seems to work well. I had a few staticy moments when i hit some large bumps, but overall the music is surprisingly clear and super easy to connect to a station.This Flexsmart has a nice solid feel to it and works better then the two previous transmitters I owned. I would recommend this device to others. Oh ya......it charges my iPhone and iPod too, nice

Have not used all the features, yet.
It plugs in easily and actually holds the angle you bend it to. I like that it keeps my iphone charged while traveling. My passenger has a Blackberry that also fits nicely in this mount. Have not accessed all the features available. The device told me what radio channel to tune to, and it worked. So I can now enjoy listening to my podcasts and music over the radio. My only complaint is when it is mounted and plugged in, AND my bluetooth is not working, I have to pull over to disengage the phone to answer it. Disengaging the phone from the mount, quickly, is a bit awkward. But, I do like that the phone ringing overrides the music playing over the radio. I do not know if there is a work around for the answering problem. Over all, it is a very useful device and there must be an instruction somewhere for my receiving calls issue.

An excellent FM transmitter value!
With only 1 prior review I bought this item and took a risk. I'm glad I did! Considering the price, its built fairly well. The plastic is solid and the buttons do not feel cheap. A few things to note. This thing is very small, almost tiny. If you are prone to breaking or losing things this may not be the one for you, spend a bunch more money and get something ultra durable. Secondly, the power cord is short, like 20" short and the plug that goes into the unit is tiny. The larger power plug went into the vehicle power receptacle and it stayed in the socket very well unlike my cheap GPS cord which comes loose every 20 miles. Performance: What can I say? In Ipod mode the sound is not quite as good as a CD but is much better than the normal radio. I pretty much expected this due to the limitations of FM transmission. Very little static or interference once I found an open frequency. I tried using Pandora and although it worked great, the sound wasn't quite as good, but I suspect that is...

I purchase this product, it only took about a week and or so to come in. It came with everything provided in the picture. The remote, the transmitter, it was the best one I've usen in my car. This deal is so cheap, but it works perfect! No joke. I have went through so many iTrips and all those other FM transmitter devices that would cost my $50 and up from Best Buy, and believe me. I returned it all, and this product that I've got works PERFECT! No static, nothing was wrong. I absolutely love it! Wow! No commercials.
This is a great way to run your Ipod sound through your car and desktop radio speakers. It is a little attachment you put on the bottom of your Ipod. I play it in the car using the car speakers. You choose an FM frequency that a radio station is not using. I use 89.1. I ordered 2 for a total of $11.86 - free shipping. It arrived 2 days early and works great! No commercials! Yay! The remote is also very handy. I'm also using it at work through the radio on my desk.
