Superlative sound and convenience, but no remote switch.
[Update: In answer to some questions, this stereo has a conventional audio input, so you can easily use it with sound sources other than an iPod. As someone has observed, the Cyber Acoustic web page claims the Nano 3g can't be charged by the CA-421 dock. Au contraire! When using electrical power and the included dock adapter, I had no difficulty charging a Nano 3g with this CA-421 dock. In fact, contrary to the company's description, it did the same with a Classic and the Touch (I don't own an iPhone, though.) Since writing the following, I've "gone through" other speakers, including the most popular rechargeable Altec Lansing and Logitech, both of which balk at playing the newest Touch. This inexpensive iRhythms model actually sounds competitive and continues to be the only portable I can depend on (no doubt due to the well-constructed adapters and the provision for using regular AA alkalines). Looks good, sounds great, does all that is required
I was looking for something cheap to listen to podcasts while I was working in the garage. This thing plays loudly with no apparent distortion. Very well designed with digital volume control. Recharged my iTouch in less than an hour. At the present it has adapters for all iPods regardless of what the descriptions may say. Had I paid twice as much I would have still regarded it as a bargain.

Fab little speakers
These speakers have great sound for their size. If you're looking to spend this amount on speakers, then they are great. I listen to dance music when I'm travelling and the sound is good when it's played reasonably loud. My only (small) complaint is that I have a white iPod and only black speakers are available. But apart from that, I'm really happy with these.

For $71 this is pretty good!
This works with my iphone 4 still in the case! so that's a treat. And while I had to adjust my ipod setting to give a fuller sound out this system, it still sounds pretty good out the box. It's exactly what I'd expect for $71. Consider that most speakers are in the $120-$300 range. If you want really robust sound, this isn't it but this works really well in my kitchen as I cook and do the dishes. I'm pleased as it's red as is my kitchen! yippee!

Great product, great customer service
THE PRODUCT - I was looking for a middle of the road iPod speaker because I wasn't interested in paying $200 for a BOSE iPod speaker. I wanted something small, simple and reasonably priced. THIS IS IT! Don't expect BOSE quality sound, but it is more than adequate for a desktop speaker in an office or to make your 1st gen iPod touch a great alarm clock (which it has inside it, but no built in external speakers to make it useful) Also, this dock is a great way to charge the touch, which does not come with a wall charging adapter.THE CUSTOMER SERVICE - The only glitch in my experience was that the speaker/dock did not come with a universal iPod touch adapter. Your iPod will still attach to the speaker and work fine, and for the most part sit on the dock solidly. But the adapter makes it much more solid. I e-mailed Satechi and asked for an adapter. They CALLED me back, that's right CALLED me back, and offered to send one out free of charge. THAT'S an A+ in my book.

An unexpected pleasure!
I think this unit provides an excellent combination of quality, value and price. I highly recommend it. I should also note that I am using the dock with a new 160 Gb iPod Classic that I bought two weeks ago. It also works fine with my 2-year old 80 Gb iPod Classic. A little background follows that I hope you'll find interesting, then a review of the unit itself.Fact is, I was so pleased with this dock that I tried to purchase another unit this morning (12/3/09). I was disappointed to discover that Amazon indicated the unit was no longer available. In fact, it was flagged with the message "Currently unavailable. IPOD Touch Dock
I purchased this item to be able to charge my Touch and play music through it. I am pleased, it does what it says it will do and the sound quality is very good. The remote is a little tricky to figure out, but it works fine once I did. I would buy this product again, for the money, it is a good value.Update - Over three years later and this Dock is still functioning. Superb little speaker
The only drawback is the cutesy appearance which makes this unit look more like a toy than a serious compact sized all in one IPOD dock.Having had 4 Harmon Kardon Go+Play and being very familier with the HK sound, I consider this a baby Harmon Kardon Go+Play. It doesn't have the same maximum volume but it does get respectably loud with true 24 watts and audio extension down to 60 hz. VERY clear, present and strong. Cute (but slightly creepy) little speaker system with big sound
I bought this on impulse about a year ago, after reading favorable reviews in a gadget magazine. I'm generally pleased with it, though it gets a few funny looks from visitors sometimes. The sound coming out of it is indeed very good and fills the room, so if you're looking for an unusual iPod dock, this is a good item to consider either as a gift or for yourself. I like to put my iPod Touch in here and listen to Beethoven or some other classical music while I cook. I have also listened to a variety of music on it, including rock, metal, electronica, and hip-hop and have no complaints about the sound quality.The iPig is very easy to use. Powerful Pig!
The sound is very good from this little pig! Rich tones. It is not cheaply made--solid piece of pork.:) The remote works well.It is a small hassle to turn the tiny switch on at the back base of the pig before inserting the Ipod. I guess you could just leave it on all the time, but I turn it off. You can not turn the unit on/off from the remote. Otherwise, very happy with the purchase.

It is surprisingly light and slim, especially considering the fullness, crispness, and volume of the sound that it produces. Excellent full range sound
I've had this model a few days, having waited months after reading rave reviews from preview electronic shows. It was worth the wait. I love a wide range of music, and am picky about sound quality. This speaker system is absolutely remarkable. I've listened to James Taylor, Luciano Pavarotti, Mozart's Requiem, Earth Wind and Fire, REM, among others and all of these sound wonderful, with crisp highs, resonant base notes, and a warmth in the mid-range that I've not ever heard from any portable player, including CD players, much less from compressed digital formats. It sounds better than my Bose Wave Radio/CD player, which I keep in my office. My son, a musician, walked downstairs and just looked at the small player in astonishment, thinking I had been playing our main sound system (built in speakers throughout the house). Very good sound, two gripes
Right out of the box and plugged in the unit produced very good sound. At first I thought the kickstand was flimsy and was not supporting the unit well. Another review here helped resolve this by pointing out that it needs to be pushed in harder than one may think, and then it really does lock in.Appearance/designI find that Logitech iPod speaker systems generally lack some elegance, but S715i looks a lot better than the previous attempts. I bought this item after reading several positive reviews posted on this site. Having tried it out, I do agree with many of the positive comments, but also found a couple of negatives that turned out to be deal-breakers for me, and I have decided to return it. One of the negatives is specific to my particular listening preference and may not apply to other folks. I bought this unit to use with my iPod in the bedroom. I like to fall asleep listing to SOFT music, so good low-level volume control is important for me. Unfortunately this unit are not well matched to that need. It has very little sensitivity at low levels: with the volume set only a few steps above zero on the push-button control, the sound level is already getting rather loud. Worse, the unit does not "remember" the previous volume stetting when it is switched on, instead it automatically resets to a mid level (which is actually quite loud) - this is something one could live with, obviously, but for me it's just too...
