A nice little speaker with power
I really didn't expect too much from this mini speaker system for my iPod nano. But I was wrong. It is really great.1. The speaker is smaller than I expected which is real plus. It measures about 4" (width) x 4" (height) x 4" (depth). I placed it on my desk and it looks nice and it doesn't take much space at all.2. The sound quality while not mistaken for Bose, it is clear and generates decent bass sound. Plus, it can carry the sound far. It is powerful I must say. Even with the 1/5 volume of my iPod can fill the whole room with a clear sound.3. I love the fact that my iPod is being charged while it is playing.4. It has aux input at the back of the speaker, so you could connect other devices of your choice. (NOTE: However, there is talk that Altec Lansing will remove aux input from future models).Overall, I am pleased by the product. Only thing you might want to consider is the price. It might be a tad expensive.

Great small-space speaker for iPod
I've tried several small speakers in an attempt to easily bring my iPod music to rooms without a stereo system. This Altec Lansing is the best of the bunch, although I haven't yet tried any of the very high-end products out there.Pros:1. Set-up couldn't possibly be easier. Unpack it. Plug it in. Turn on your iPod. Done.2. Small footprint. This fits nicely on a wide window ledge, so I don't have to rearrange table-tops when I move it from room to room.3. Good sound, not tinny. Bass is obviously not going to be robust with a speaker this size, but overall the sound is good. Not "room-filling," but good.Cons:1. While it has a small footprint, it definitely isn't tiny. This isn't a speaker you're going to toss into a bag to take on a trip.2. The speaker is covered with black cloth (like traditional in-home speakers). Don't Understand the negative reviews
Not sure why others are having issues with Iphone 4 operation. I plugged it in, worked just fine right out of the box. It requests that I download the Altec Lansing alarm clock application (not sure why). I didn't even recieve the "not optimized for iphone" message that I have recieved on other docks. Anyone that orders this expecting to use it at a house party has unrealistic expectations. Sounds great as a desk or counter top speaker. It does not come with an Iphone 4 dock adapter plate, so the phone is not entirely secured in the dock, but won't just fall out. The only thing that this is missing is a remote and/or external controls. You control the volume and navigation from the phone. If you are looking for a simple, good sounding speaker dock that works with Iphone 4, you can't beat this speaker for the price. If you are looking for audiophile levels of sound quality or a speaker that is built specifically for Iphone 4 be prepared to spend alot more $.

Best iPhone/iPod Docking Clock Radio
I searched a long time for a combo clock radio and docking station for my iPhone. Although there are several on the market, I wanted something that took up as little space as possible on my night stand, had a display with large numbers, would charge my iPhone, play music from my iPhone as the alarm instead of the radio, and was easy to use.I FOUND IT!! This Sony clock radio is great, and has TONS of features. I like the large illuminated display, which has different settings depending on how bright you want the light at night. Setting the alarm is very easy (you can go forward and backward through hour and minutes, without having to run completely through the cycle like most clocks), and there are TWO alarm settings. You can set an alarm for weekdays to get you up for work, and then a separate alarm for the weekend. Pretty cool.The snooze button is nice and big on top of the unit, and let's you take the standard 10 minute snooze, or you can keep pressing...

Great clock and antenna
I wanted to add a quick note about this clock radio because most of the other reviews for clock radios don't address the issue that was the most important to me- the strength of the antenna. I was looking for an alarm clock that would get better reception in our bedroom than the one we presently own. This clock is able to pick-up stations that are either too fuzzy to hear or don't even come in on our current clock.I also like that the iPod dock slides out, so that I don't have a large piece of machinery sitting on my bedside table! I am very pleased with this clock radio and my husband is going to be thrilled on Father's Day!

Radio reception is weak, otherwise a terrific iPhone/iPod clock radio
First off, I want to say that I like almost everything about this alarm clock and that I went to a Best Buy first and tested it (music and all) right next to its bigger Sony sibling (the one with the CD player, called Sony ICFCD3iP CD Clock Radio for iPod and iPhone) as well as the iHomes and Logitech and other competitors. Essentially this one came out the winner in every way IF what you're looking for is an ALARM CLOCK. This is not a speaker system by any stretch (it's not even stereophonic, one speaker), it's not designed to party to or have it produce massive bass sounds. I know this is obvious to most of you but there's always some imbecile who doesn't seem to realize that a little alarm clock barely bigger than your iPhone can't possibly be a stereo system.As an alarm clock, I loved this little system precisely because it does so much and takes up so little space. Great item.....I made it even better!!
I've been looking for a good (3.5mm headphone jack) compact speaker system for quite a while now. I have a ipod,iphone,and Kindle Fire that I save music on. I'm on the go alot and just wanted something good for my mobile office and my hotel room that I seem to live in most of the time. I was not sure of going with a single speaker or trying a dual system. I did my research on both and after reading many customer reviews on different units I decided to get TWO of these. They sound great on their own, but I made them SOO much better by purchasing a 3.5mm stereo to dual 3.5mm mono splittter and two 1.5 foot 3.5mm extensions. by doing this it solves both my problems... 1: that using only one speaker you dont get true stereo sound. 2: that the chord it comes with is to short for my needs. I used some heatshrink tubing and melted it over the connections on the extensions to the right/left ends of the splitter which holds the connections tight now. any 3.5mm extensions will work, just...

Haven't had long, but wanted to clear up description. I couldn't find any differences besides the 2.5 adapter on the Altec Lansing website,and the IM227. In this description, it didn't say it worked for mp3 also. I hooked it up and it sounds real good. It is pretty loud. It says to turn off extra bass/equalizer. At first I turned it off, but switching back and forth to headphones, I turned the eq back on and turned the volume down a little. I haven't cranked it past 3/4, but sounds great. Played Aerosmith, Skynyrd, Jackyl, Stones and rock only, they all sound great to me. Stones had some piano that sounded good too.It comes with batteries also, I am running rechargeables. Take a marker and draw a line on bottom, before taking it off, so you can line up easier, to put it back on. You cannot go wrong purchasing this speaker. For the price, it's got the best sound you could ever expect. However, I must mention that it won't work with my wife's AT&T F160 Cell Phone by ZTE. I have NO idea why, so I won't blame the speaker. It could be the phone - who knows? The phone has the same physical standard 3.5mm stereo output receptacle, and stereo headphones work with it, so whatever. This speaker works with our iPods, both 2G and 4G models. Great charger; very handy emergency booster battery
My wife, my son and I all bought Verizon iPhones as soon as they became available. I wanted to buy docks for each of us for ease of charging, and when I saw this dock with the mini battery pack I thought it was a great idea. My old Windows Mobile phone had an extended battery and I was a little worried that the iPhone battery life would be less than what I was used to, so I figured that it would be nice to have the mini battery pack for times when I was out of power.As a charger, this dock is attractive and reliable. It comes with two inserts, one for the iPhone 3 and one for the iPhone 4. I use the iPhone 4 insert, and my Verizon phone fits into the dock nice and snugly. I do need to slip off the bottom part of my Splash Cruiser case to make the phone fit; this is not a problem for me as I find this very easy to do. If I take out the insert, then the phone fits into the dock and charges while still in the case; however, I do not like to do this as it feels as though...

Charger for iphone 4
i bought this for my bf and have seen what it can do. this product is great for its price. we recently put it to the test last night while waiting 4 hours in line for tron legacy at imax. his cell was down to about 65% and he had brought his fully charged charger, this product i'm reviewing, and while waiting on line, and still using his iphone for downloading updates, playing games, checking emails and such, he was able to get almost an additional 40% charge off this lil charger i got him. that was perfect! so if he was just using it to charge it could well be above 40% charge. the dock holds both the iphone 4 and battery nice and sturdy, it even provides a small connect base so all the weight of the iphone isnt on the prongs of the charger. its very easy to hookup. i'd recommend this item to anyone who uses their iphone all day and find themselves with very lil left by the end of their night, and still are out and about in the city or just away from home for that extra boost of...

Best FM transmitter for my HTC Evo
When I got the HTC Evo back at the beginning of June I just went to Wal Mart and picked up an FM transmitter there for 50 dollars, but it would only transmit to the radio but not charge the phone. For anyone who has an Evo, you know that the battery life is not good. Plus it had a so much excess wiring. I returned it and bought this off of amazon and it is amazing. It paired within 10 seconds and transmits with barely noticeable no static, transmits far better than the 50 dollar thing I got from Wal-Mart or the FM transmitter I had for my iphone. I put my phone onto pandora, plug in the charger and set it down and if a song comes up I want to skip, I can just hit the forward button on the flexSmart unit which can be easily adjusted to any position for your hand.I love this thing, its not obtrusive, theres not a ton of excess wiring, just the gooseneck and if you want to charge it simultaneously you can just plug it into the usb port with the included 6 inch wire or use...

Okay, so maybe everybody knows this, but this isn't just for the Android phone-- it's compatible with the iPhone 4 as well. i apologize for my negativity, but this product sucks!! it says nowhere in the description that it does not work with the ipod 6th gen classic!! i tried every which way to get this product to work, but no dice. the display continued to say "connect video accessory".while searching for a solution to my problem online, I finally realized that THE ONLY CABLE THAT WILL WORK IS: Apple Composite AV Cable - MB129LL/A!!
